Gluten-Free Foods and Brands

The following is a list of gluten-free food brands and prepared food items as well as manufacturers that are known to be "Gluten Free Friendly" (meaning they plainly indicate when something is or isn't gluten-free). Some items on the list were provided to me by members of a Celiac support group while others are the result of reading labels.

This list is intended as a helpful resource only. I make no claims or guarantees about the continued accuracy of the information provided. You, and only you are responsible for your health and well-being. You should always read the labels yourself, as companies cannot be guaranteed to keep their formulas the same over time.

If you have additional lists or you see errors in my list, feel free to pass that information along to me and I'll post it when I have a moment.

GF-Friendly Brands

  • Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream - In a statement on their website, Ben & Jerry's claims that, "If our product contains gluten, its presence would be indicated on the label by the words wheat flour or flour. Should any of our products contain those grains (wheat, flour, barley, oats, rye, etc.) the label would reference them." In a separate statement, they indicate that their vanilla flavoring is not derived from grain-based alcohol.
  • Kraft Foods - Kraft publishes a Guide to Choosing Gluten-Free Foods and it is available on the web in Adobe PDF Format. In the guide, they claim that all Kraft products will indicate a gluten source as "Weat, Oats, Barley, or Rye" no matter how large or small the content of the product.
  • McCormick (Spices, Extracts, Etc.) - In a statement on their website, McCormick says, "...we take precautions to ensure the source of gluten is declared on our label in the ingredient statement."
  • Frito Lay - Frito Lay maintains a list of Gluten Free products on their website. They do have a disclaimer about the food being prepared in a facility that processes non-GF items, but follow industry standards for cleaning, etc.
